Status: Soon. Customer access to the manual editor, image and short-video creation, and Ask Midways is pending. Use this guide to choose a starting path, then follow the steps when your account has access.
Choose your starting point
- For existing footage, open the editor and, once Studio access is enabled, go to /studio/editor. Start a new draft, then use Add in the media panel to import files.
- For a new still, read Create an image from text before visiting /studio/image. For a short generated clip, read Create a video from text before /studio/video.
- To make a finished sequence, place media on the timeline, edit it, check captions and audio, then use Settings → Export → Render & export.
Understand the workspace
The media library holds source files. The canvas previews the current frame. The timeline controls when clips, text, captions, voice and music appear. The right-side editing sections expose Transform, Effects, Audio, Captions and Settings for the selected work. A generated result can be downloaded or sent to the editor with Edit creation; inside the editor the equivalent action is Add to this editor.
Save before relying on project questions
Save cloud project requires sign-in and cloud project access. Ask answers are scoped to available evidence in a saved project version; the answer may cite a source or say there is not enough evidence. See Ask Midways project questions.
What is Soon?
Public release of the editor, Create and Ask is Soon. Visual references, combined multi-shot generation and autonomous editing are also Soon. A storyboard proposal can plan 2–4 scenes, but you generate one clip at a time.
Do I need AI credits to trim a clip?
Manual timeline editing does not run a generation model. AI generation quotes a cost before submission; account terms and credit allowances are pending approval.
Where should I go next?
Follow Projects and media, then Edit the timeline. Each topic page includes troubleshooting and links to the next task.
